Gifted and Growing is a 100% Virtual Practice. I’d planned to shift into online work prior to the events of 2020, and I’ve come to learn that having a virtual practice is just as effective and has so much benefit for clients. Alongside the rapid expansion of interest in and availability of online counseling, coaching, and various groups – research and meta-analysis continue to find parity of effectiveness between virtual and in-person. Rather than driving, dealing with traffic and parking, being in hit-and-miss waiting rooms, and then having to leave session and deal with those things again, people arrive to their sessions from whatever location they find most convenient, confidential, and likely to make for optimal session time.

It can be hard to find a gifted-specific therapist. Many states have few or zero clinicians with the training and experience to effectively aid gifted people of all ages, stages, and levels of giftedness. I am licensed to practice counseling with people residing in North and South Carolina. Virtual practice means that whether you live in Wilmington, Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Asheville, Murphy, Fuquay-Varina, or anywhere in North Carolina, we can work together. The same is true if you live in Greenville, Spartanburg, Columbia, Anderson, Orangeburg, Beaufort, Charleston, North Charleston, Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach, or anywhere in South Carolina. Residents of North Carolina and South Carolina are eligible for counseling services. Outside of North and South Carolina, people are eligible for coaching services and Improv groups via Gifted and Growing. I live in Asheville, and I have clients from the mountains of western NC all the way to the low country of SC.
