Gifted Adolescent Group

People Who Get Me

A Group to Support Gifted High School Aged Teens

  • Tuesday nights
  • Sept. 10 through Nov. 19
  • 6:15pm – 7:45pm
  • $50/session
  • Limit of 6 members

When you feel like the odd one out, the experience of being together with people who understand you – your intensities, anxieties, perfectionism and sense of humor – is powerful. Being gifted comes with social confusion and isolation, and group counseling is a fun way to overcome the insecurities trained into gifted people by a society that doesn’t often understand.

The lives of differently wired teens are different. I invite you to be with a group of people who get you.

Meeting weekly on Tuesday nights from 6:15 – 7:45pm, the group will draw from various resources (books, articles, movies, etc.) to focus on your experiences. The group will have some topics built into it. It will also make space for you to talk about what’s most important to you. Some of the themes you can expect are anxiety, perfectionism, existential issues, social situations, frustration, dealing with parents, and more.

You’ll meet other people who are figuring out how to be themselves. You’ll feel like an equal in a community of equals. You’ll give and receive. You’ll help others and be helped by them. You’ll have a safe, supportive place. You’ll learn things you didn’t know. You’ll grow. You’ll laugh. You’ll feel like you belong.

Contact me to be a part of it.
